Retic Terms of Service
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern the access and use of the smart goal and habit tracking service, Retic (“we”, “us”, “our”, or the “Service”), and define the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between us and the users.
Article 2 (Definitions)
- “Service” refers to the goal tracking, habit forming, and related features provided by Retic.
- “User” (or “Member”) refers to any individual who accesses the Service, agrees to these Terms, and completes the account registration.
- “Posted Content” refers to a trail a User publishes on the Service (a tree of goals, tasks, and habits together with its title, description, category, and similar details).
Article 3 (Effect and Modification)
- These Terms become effective when the User agrees to them, and will be posted on the Service.
- We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time in compliance with applicable laws. In the event of modifications, we will notify Users at least 7 days prior to the effective date.
Article 4 (Account Registration)
- An account is created when a person agrees to these Terms and the Privacy Policy and completes the registration process we provide.
- Persons under 14 years of age may not register for an account. If we learn that a person under 14 has registered, we may delete that account.
- Users may delete their account at any time using the account deletion feature in the Service.
Article 5 (Service Provision and Limits)
- We offer both free services and premium paid subscription plans (“Pro Plan”).
- Freemium Limits: Free Plan users may have a limit on the number of active goals they can track simultaneously (e.g., maximum of 5 active goals). Tasks and habits under those active goals remain unlimited.
- Pro Plan users enjoy unlimited active goals, unlimited tasks/habits, and additional premium features.
Article 6 (Data Sync and Storage)
- The Service synchronizes user data to a cloud database in real-time to prevent data loss.
- We may temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance, server upgrades, or unexpected technical emergencies, with reasonable notice where possible.
Article 7 (Publishing Content and License to Use)
- Posted Content is published immediately without prior review by us and can be viewed by anyone, whether or not they are signed in.
- The User who created Posted Content holds the rights to it and is responsible for it.
- By publishing Posted Content, a User permits other users to view it within the Service and to copy (adopt) it as their own goals, modify it, and use it. Copies already made remain in the copying user’s data even if the original is later deleted or made private.
- By publishing Posted Content, a User permits us to display it on the Service and on our website to operate and promote the Service. This permission ends when the User deletes the content or makes it private.
- Users may edit, make private, or delete their own Posted Content at any time.
- We do not display a User’s email address or other personally identifying information with Posted Content; we may display only the nickname the User has set.
Article 8 (Prohibited Content)
Users must not publish Posted Content that:
- Violates the law or promotes criminal activity
- Promotes hatred of, discrimination against, or disparagement of any person or group
- Harasses or threatens others
- Is obscene or sexual, violent or gruesome, or encourages self-harm or suicide
- Reveals personal information about yourself or others, such as contact details, addresses, or national ID numbers
- Is spam, advertising, promotion, or commercial solicitation
- Infringes the copyright, trademark, publicity, or other rights of others
- Impersonates another person or us, or misleads users with false information
Article 9 (Content Moderation and Restrictions)
- Users may report Posted Content they believe falls under Article 8 using the report feature in the Service. Posted Content reported by three or more different users is automatically made private until we finish reviewing it.
- If we determine that reported content, or content we find ourselves, falls under Article 8, we may make it private or delete it without prior notice. We aim to review reported content within 7 days of receiving the report.
- We may restrict the ability to publish content, or suspend or terminate the account, of a User who repeatedly or seriously violates Article 8.
- Users may hide a specific piece of Posted Content, or all Posted Content from a specific User, so that it no longer appears to them in the Service.
- A User who disagrees with an action we took on their Posted Content may appeal by contacting us at the address below within 30 days of learning of the action. We will review the appeal, notify the User of the outcome, and restore the content if the appeal is upheld.
- We have no obligation to review Posted Content in advance, and we are not liable for disputes arising from Posted Content unless caused by our intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
Article 10 (Limitation of Liability)
- Users are solely responsible for securing their credentials (email, password, etc.).
- We are not liable for any data loss or damage resulting from user negligence or failure to secure credentials.
