Retic Account Deletion

This page explains how to delete your Retic account (web app and Android app) and its associated data. You can view this page without signing in.

1. Delete your account in the app

  1. Sign in to Retic (app.retic.io or the Android app).
  2. Tap Settings (the gear icon, top right), then go to Account.
  3. Tap Delete account, type DELETE in the confirmation field, then tap Delete permanently.

Deletion takes effect immediately and cannot be undone. If you sign in again later with the same Google account, you’ll start with a new, empty account.

2. If you can’t access the app

Email [email protected] from the address you signed up with and ask us to delete your account. We’ll verify your identity and delete it without delay.

3. Data that is deleted

When you delete your account, all of the following is erased:

  • Account information (email address and Google sign-in link)
  • All app data, including your goal and habit tree and habit completion history
  • Nickname, notification settings and notification devices, in-app notification history, consent records, and feedback you sent
  • Trails you published, reports you filed, your hidden trails list, and your agreement to the trail posting rules
  • Android app access records (app version and the times you first and last opened the app)
  • The link between your Retic account and the payment processor’s customer ID (Paddle Customer ID)
  • App data stored in the browser of the device you deleted your account from

4. Data that is retained, and for how long

  • Payment records (subscription status, billing periods, etc.): Retained for 5 years as required by e-commerce and consumer protection laws. They are unlinked from your account so you can no longer be identified within Retic, and are destroyed when the period ends.
  • Payment processor records: Transaction and invoice records kept by Paddle as the Merchant of Record are governed by Paddle’s privacy policy.
  • Waitlist (pre-registration) email: Collected separately from your account, so it isn’t removed by account deletion. Email us if you’d like it removed.
  • Trails that other users have already adopted are copies in their own trees and are not deleted.

5. If you have a subscription

Deleting your account cancels any active subscription immediately, and you won’t be charged again. Refunds follow the same rules as our Refund Policy:

  • Within 14 days of your first payment: we automatically refund it in full, no request needed (14-day money-back guarantee). It may take 5–10 business days to reach your payment method.
  • Otherwise (more than 14 days have passed, or you’ve had a renewal payment): the remaining subscription period isn’t refunded; we just stop future charges.

Before deleting, the account deletion screen in the app shows whether your subscription will be canceled and how much will be refunded.
